The Games Room. In the original forge.
The forge where Shane’s grandfather worked iron, restored: charred timber walls, a whiskey-stave table with Guinness stools, a chess set and a dartboard, over the bay.
The forge where Shane’s grandfather worked iron, given a second life.
This was the original forge, where Shane’s grandfather, Davey John, worked iron. It’s been restored as a games room without losing what it was: charred timber walls, the stone, and the working-building feel, with a whiskey-stave table built along the picture window over the bay.
Guinness stools at the table, a chess set, a dartboard, a mini fridge of cold soft drinks, and a proper TV for the rugby. It’s open around the clock by PIN, shared between the cottage and the cabins, the place the evening drifts to once the hot tub’s done.
The table, the chess, and the stone.
Everything for a long evening.
Whiskey-stave
A tall table built from whiskey-barrel staves along the picture window, with two Guinness stools and a mini fridge in the corner, stocked with cold soft drinks.
Chess, darts, TV
A chess set, a dartboard, and a proper TV with the streaming services and the sports channels; the rugby, in particular, has been watched in here more than once.
Open 24 hours, by PIN
Open around the clock by keypad PIN, shared between the cottage and the cabins, never opened to anyone from outside. The code arrives with your check-in details.
