Margaret’s Cabin. For two.
Chalet warmth with a darker, more textured palette, a heather feature wall, and a covered deck with its own private hot tub looking out to Mulroy Bay.
From €180 a night
Named for Davey John’s eldest daughter.
The twin cabin, with the bay in view.
Margaret’s Cabin is the twin of Rae’s in feel (the same chalet warmth, honey-pine and Donegal tweed), but with a darker, more textured palette: a heather feature wall, a navy velvet sofa, a McNutt tweed headboard. It sleeps two, in one bedroom with a king-size bed and an open-plan living room and kitchen.
Margaret’s deck is what sets it apart: the hot tub here looks straight out to Mulroy Bay, prominent beyond the rail. Covered veranda, cordyline palms, a chiminea for clear nights, and the same shared sauna and games room a short walk across the courtyard.
A look around.
The covered deck, and the hot tub on it.
Private, looking out to the bay
Private, covered, and yours 24/7. Heated and ready when you arrive. The cover stays on between sessions so the heat doesn’t escape, and the tub here looks straight out across Mulroy Bay.
A ceramic-egg grill in the pavilion
A kamado-style ceramic egg under the BBQ pavilion on the patio, the kind you can sear a steak on and slow-cook over. Charcoal, brush and ash bucket provided; instructions are in the welcome book.
Straight out to Mulroy Bay
The deck looks out across Mulroy Bay, with the cordyline palms in the foreground and the far shore beyond. There’s a chiminea for clear nights, and the low light pollution means real stars over the water.
Dogs are welcome in the cabin, too.
Bring the dog. There’s a hose by the back for wash-downs after the beach, the deck has room for them to settle while you’re in the tub, and three blue-flag beaches with dog-friendly stretches are within twenty minutes.
Dogs at Davey John’sA base for North Donegal, five minutes from the golf.
The cabins sit on the same smallholding as the cottage, between Milford and Carrigart, four kilometres from the village, on a main road, not down a country lane, so a short drive gets you almost anywhere on the Fanad and Rosguill peninsulas.

A few honest details, before you book.
The things we always end up explaining anyway, better said here, before you’ve packed the car.
The cabin sleeps two: one bedroom with a king-size bed. It’s built for couples; if you’re a family or a group, Ruby’s Cottage next door sleeps six and is the better fit.
Heated and ready when you arrive: at temperature when you walk in, not warming up.
There are two log cabins on the terrace. Each has its own private deck and hot tub; you won’t be sharing yours. They make sense to book together for two couples travelling as one party.
Off-street parking on the drive, up by the cabins. The cottage guests park separately, lower down.
Check-in from 15:00. Self check-in by lockbox; the code arrives by WhatsApp the morning of your arrival. Check-out by 10:00, and if you need a later one ask; usually fine outside peak weeks.
Fibre to the property; last speed test was 465 Mbps. Fresh linen, towels, hot tub robes and beach towels all provided. If you’d like to take a robe home, we ask for €100 a robe and €10 a towel.
