A honey-pine vaulted ceiling, a McNutt of Donegal tweed headboard, corner doors onto a covered deck, and a private hot tub looking out to Mulroy Bay.
Named for Davey John’s middle daughter, who never quite left Devlinmore.
Rae’s Cabin sits on the terrace above the cottage, looking out across the smallholding to the bay. Inside it’s all honey-coloured pine: a vaulted ceiling, an open-plan living room and kitchen, and a bedroom with a king-size bed and a McNutt of Donegal tweed headboard. Corner doors fold back onto the covered deck.
It sleeps two. Rae’s deck is the point: a covered veranda with its own private hot tub, bistro chairs and a sofa, set up so you can sit out whatever the weather. There’s a BBQ pavilion with a ceramic-egg grill in the yard, and the shared sauna and games room are a short walk across the courtyard.
Private, covered, and yours 24/7. Heated and ready when you arrive. The cover stays on between sessions so the heat doesn’t escape, and because the deck is covered, you can sit out in it whatever Donegal’s doing.
A kamado-style ceramic egg under the BBQ pavilion on the patio, the kind you can sear a steak on and slow-cook over. Charcoal, brush and ash bucket provided; instructions are in the welcome book.
The deck looks out over the front of the cottage and away across to Mulroy Bay in the distance. The light pollution out here is properly low; on a clear, moonless night you’ll get the stars over the tub.
Bring the dog. There’s a hose by the back for wash-downs after the beach, the deck has room for them to settle while you’re in the tub, and three blue-flag beaches with dog-friendly stretches are within twenty minutes.
Dogs at Davey John’sThe cabins sit on the same smallholding as the cottage, between Milford and Carrigart, four kilometres from the village, on a main road, not down a country lane, so a short drive gets you almost anywhere on the Fanad and Rosguill peninsulas.

The things we always end up explaining anyway, better said here, before you’ve packed the car.
The cabin sleeps two: one bedroom with a king-size bed. It’s built for couples; if you’re a family or a group, Ruby’s Cottage next door sleeps six and is the better fit.
Heated and ready when you arrive: at temperature when you walk in, not warming up.
There are two log cabins on the terrace. Each has its own private deck and hot tub; you won’t be sharing yours. They make sense to book together for two couples travelling as one party.
Off-street parking on the drive, up by the cabins. The cottage guests park separately, lower down.
Check-in from 15:00. Self check-in by lockbox; the code arrives by WhatsApp the morning of your arrival. Check-out by 10:00, and if you need a later one ask; usually fine outside peak weeks.
Fibre to the property; last speed test was 465 Mbps. Fresh linen, towels, hot tub robes and beach towels all provided. If you’d like to take a robe home, we ask for €100 a robe and €10 a towel.
We honour Airbnb and Booking.com rates here, and there’s no commission to swallow, which usually means a small discount and an easier conversation about anything you need.
