Shane, Emma and Grace were very helpful throughout. Very easy check in. Lovely area of the country. Smart tv, sauna and hot tub are great features. Pet friendly also which was what we needed for our dog Frankie.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay at Davey John's Forge for his birthday. The cabin was lovely with a stunning view of the lake. We we're only a 10-20 minute drive to any of the local towns which was perfect for us and any questions we had Shane was quick to respond with recommendations etc. Will definitely be coming back to Donegal.

Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a stay in the area. It was incredibly clean and the views were lovely from the hot tub! Shane is a great host who was attentive at all times.

Such a peaceful, relaxing weekend away if you want to get away from everything. Close to the local down which has such a cute pub/restaurants and only 10mins from Downings beach and the Harbour Bar! The Airbnb itself was so relaxing! Lovely hot tub and views!!
(No shopping if that’s what your interested in)

This place was WONDERFUL and definitely recommend, the space was beautiful and in a lovely area where the views were stunning. A bit on the pricey side but definitely worth it ! There are lots of things to do within a short car ride and plenty of sites to see

We had a fantastic two-night stay at this peaceful cabin in Donegal. The location is stunning, with beautiful views and a real sense of calm and quiet — perfect for a relaxing getaway. It’s also ideally situated, just a short drive from a few charming small towns with great restaurants and lovely beaches. The host Shane went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind in a scenic and welcoming spot. Added bonus of the hot tub and beautiful newly fitted sauna. Perfect for couples or a girls weekend!
And lastly double thumbs up for being able to bring our fur baby with us🐶

Staying in Davey John's house was amazing, everything you need in a holiday home at your finger tips.
I needed to contact the owner (Shane) couple of times and the communication was second to none, very prompt.
The location is great for exploring Donegal, loads to beaches nearby and restaurants within a short drive away.
I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking to relax (in the hot tub and newly installed sauna) or an active hiking/walking break.

Spent two nights here at Davey Johns and we were not disappointed. The cabin was secluded and extremely private. Shane was a great host, giving us useful links before and during the trip to make sure we had all the information we needed to plan and make the most of it, including about the cabin and grounds to what was interesting nearby to do and see. The hot tub was our favourite part, with most of our evenings spent relaxing.

Super Fast & Free WiFi

With Fibre to the home we have some of the fastest internet speeds in Ireland. Last time I checked it was 465 mbps!

Free Parking

There's plenty of parking at Davey John's. Cabin users can park at the top of drive with Cottage guests outside the door.

Bedroom Comforts

We have a King Size bed in the Cabin with a mattress that's 'Hotel Quality'. Fresh linen and towels are provided.

Did we mention the Hot Tub?

Our Hot Tub comes from Softub. The maket leaders in Canada and has to be experienced to be believed. 

Cabin Entertainment

The 42" TV is already connected to Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney Plus. The RTE player is availabel too. There's a bluetooth speaker available too if you'd prefer to chill to music.

Pets Welcome

As Dog lovers ourselves, pets are very welcome in the Cabin. We have a dog bed available and a cage if you need to pop out on your own.

Computer Station

iI you need somewhere to work there's a dedicated work station in the Cabin. Just pop up the table and you'll have access to plenty of power sockets and internet access.

Cycling, Golf and Water Sports

We have plenty of bike storage on site along with a set of Golf clubs and a Kayak if you're feeling adventurous.

Horse Riding

We'e spoiled with two excellent riding schools within a 10 minute drive of Davey John's. Carrigart Riding School and Ashfield Riding School are both great!

Cancellation Policy

Full refund for cancellations up to 30 days before check-in. If booked fewer than 30 days before check-in, full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 days before check-in. After that, 50% refund up to 7 days before check-in. No refund after that.
